Disappointment. It's something we can all relate to. It comes in many forms- a dream unrealized, a hope dashed, a plan that falls through and so much more. It is often in these moments of disappointment that our faith is tested the most. How do we navigate disappointment with courageous faith, holding onto hope in the midst of broken dreams?
Let me begin by saying, courageous faith is not immune to disappointment. In fact, it is often in the face of life's disappointments that our faith is truly grown and yes, put to the test. I think you and I would agree, it's easy to have faith when everything is going well, when doors are opening, and dreams are being fulfilled. But what happens when the opposite occurs? When our prayers seem to go answered and our hopes are shattered?
In these moments, it is crucial to remember that disappointment does not define us. It is a temporary state of being, but not the end of the story. Courageous faith reminds us that even in the midst of disappointment there is still room for hope, for growth, and redemption in Christ.
One of the key aspects of navigating disappointment with courageous faith is allowing ourselves to grieve. It's okay to feel the emotions, and to give ourselves time. But don't linger there. Press in, faithful one, to God, who is in control of every aspect of our lives. What a sweet opportunity for growth. You see it's in these moments of disappointment that we are invited to deepen our trust in God, to surrender our plans and desires to His will, and to seek His guidance in the midst of uncertainty. It is a time to lean on God for strength and comfort, knowing that He will never leave or forsake us and He has a perfect plan for each of our lives.
Courageous Faith calls us to trust in God's greater plan, even when we cannot see the full picture. It is the belief that God is working all things together for our good, even in the midst of disappointment. It is the assurance that His promises are true, no matter what challenges we face.
Let's remember that disappointment can be a catalyst for a deeper understanding of ourselves and our faith. It can reveal those areas in our lives where we need to grow, surrender control and trust God more fully as He guides us. It can be a time of refining, shaping you and I into stronger individuals because ultimately, we trust God.
In closing, please remember disappointment is a normal part of life that none of us our immune to, but it doesn't have to be a stumbling block on our journey of faith. With courageous faith, we can face disappointment head-on, knowing that God is with us, guiding us, and shaping us into the people He has called us to be. Hold onto hope in the midst of disappointment sweet friend, trusting in the goodness and faithfulness of our Savior.
Courageously His,
Lisa
