Courageous Faith

Updated: Aug 8

faith over fear

Hi and welcome. For those of you I haven't had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Lisa, and I am honored that you are here! I am a girl that loves Jesus and mascara...lol! I have been married to the love of my life for nineteen years, and between the two of us we have five adult children, and eight GRANDS! I pray that you will be blessed by each blog entry just like a hug from Jesus.

Many years ago I was on a plane (something I don't particularly like to do) and turbulence hit. Now, this is a very normal thing when you fly, but in that moment, my peace was gone. I wanted to know what was happening and more importantly why this was happening. I had a look of panic on my face that said: are we going to be ok? And my husband reached over, grabbed my hand and said these words to me- "Perfect love casts out all fear"~ 1 John 4:18. I must have repeated that verse to myself several times, and then peace came. What a gift my husband gave to me that day reminding me that everything passes through God's hands and we can have faith in Him through the process.

You see, turbulence doesn't just happen on planes. It can happen in our everyday lives: physically, emotional, financially and yes even spiritually. We get blindsided by something and we ask that same question: Am I going to be ok? How is everything going to work out?

Here are five truths that remind you and I that in Christ we will not only be ok, but our faith will be grown courageously in and through Him. It's a simple acronym to apply to your life daily called S.T.A.R.T.

S-Stay in God's Word

T-Trust God with an Eternal Perspective

A-Align Yourself with God's Promises

R-Remember What God has Brought You Through

T-Take it One Day at a Time

I want to encourage you whatever season you find yourself in, to S.T.A.R.T today applying these five truths to your life knowing God is in complete control, He will never leave or forsake you-Trust Him with Courageous Faith.

Weekly Challenge- Start each day in God's Word and praise Him for who He is and what He is doing in the seen and unseen moments of your life.

Courageously His,

Lisa
